The finish is
called a "Brush-off" finish. Gator has deep cracks that come out darker
than the flat potions of the leather as the oil and color are applied.
The finish looks cracked but it is not. More like an antiqued finish.
Flank caiman alligator is also softer than most other gator cuts.
